Constructed in 1994, the sandstone building is itself a masterpiece. Inside the 51,000-square-foot (4,735-square-meter) building, 14 exhibition galleries display paintings, photographs, and sculptures celebrating North American wildlife, classrooms, children's gallery, auditorium, cafe, museum shop, and library.
