Missouri River Breaks Interpretive Center

The Missouri Breaks Interpretive Center opened in 2006. The center is located in Fort Benton, Montana and highlights the natural and cultural history of Upper Missouri National Wild and Scenic River and the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument. The center features hands-on exhibits and special educational programs as well as a riverside walking trail. Visitors can experience the region’s many stories, from Native Americans, explorers and steamboat captains to prehistoric fish, native plants and indigenous songbirds.

The Interpretive Center is a public-private partnership between the Bureau of Land Management, the City of Fort Benton, and the River and Plains Society.

During the summer months (Memorial Day Weekend through September 30) the center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 7 days a week.

During the winter months (October 1 to Memorial Day Weekend) the center is open Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–5 p.m. (closed federal holidays).

Fees: Adults $2.00, Children: FREE ------ Federal Interagency Passes are accepted.
