International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race

Back

About this Event

The Pedigree-hosted sled-dog race across Wyoming and into Utah, known as the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race (IPSSSDR), is an event known worldwide by competitors and supporters alike. The race's "stage stop" format allows mushers to rest in a new community each night before setting off again the following day. Since the event takes place before either the Montana Race to the Sky or the Alaskan Iditarod, competitors from both events can participate. Details of the race are announced a few months before the event, which takes place each January.

Participation Requirements (if any)

All entrants must be a member in good standing of PRIDE (Providing Responsible Information on a Dog’s Environment), prior to January 1, 2009.

All dogs must undergo a physical examination by the IPSSSDR veterinary team. Must have current vaccinations, typically one year before the race.
