Eagle's Store
On November 12, 1907, The Oregon Short Line of the Union Pacific Railroad was completed to west entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Soon after that, three special use permits for operating businesses adjacent to the railroad right of way were granted. One of those persons receiving apermit was S.P. Eagle. In 1910, a soda fountain was added to the store. The back bar is still in use today.
The present three story building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was built in the Years between 1927 and 1930. The tiled front counter was added to the soda fountain early in 1930.
While in West Yellowstone, Montana you won't want to miss this historic business and taste one of their famous Huckleberry Milkshakes.
